Description
ARSOS VILLAGE
Meet one of the best architecturally preserved villages of Cyprus with a tradition that dates back to time, and touches the time of Homer.
The compact village founded by Arcadian settlers of the king Agapinoras after the Trojan war.
Nested in a picturesque setting, Arsos is believed to have derived its name from the sacret grove of Goddess Aphrodite that once graced the area.
Stroll through cobblestone streets lined with blooming courtyards, stone houses, and picturesque archways.
Sample a sweet delicacy passed down since the Byzantine era- a treat so rare it was once reserved only for nobles and learn about the ingredients and methods preserved for centuries.
Dive into Cypriot culinary traditions with a hands-on visit to a local workshop where time-honored recipes and techniques still thrive.
NATURE PATH ' 6 FOUNTAINS'
Streams with crystal clear water running under the dense, green branches of the trees around the trail, natural arcades formed by braches in an arched shape, little wooden bridges and 6 fountains with breezy, drinkable water.
The plenitude of water made Arsos a rich village, with green slopes and fields full of apple trees, walnut trees, apricot trees and cherry trees. This natural wealth caused a constant increase of the population, with more and more fountains built in the village over the years. These old stone built fountains are the stops across the 1250-meter long trail where hikers, apart from the amazing landscape, can also enjoy the fresh water of the springs.
KTIMA GEROLEMO
Ktima Gerolemo winery is located about 1 kilometer north of the village of Omodos at an altitute of 900 metres, in the heart of the wine producing area. We will be guided to a family winery and get introduced to the principles of organic cultivation of the vine, and offrered wine tasting sessions.
OMODOS VILLAGE
Omodos village built at the slope of the mountain, between a verdant varpet of vines, surrounded by mountains that appear as though they were placed in a masterly layout, is one of the most picturesque villages of Cyprus.
The large plaza of the village, with the tiny quaint houses, the tiled roofs and the paved flowery yards, only begin to describe its beauty.
The wooden doors and the variously decorated gateways in the narrow alleys, all 'drowned' in green, lend a special beauty and charm to the village.
Time to walk in the colorful cobblestoned aquare, surrounded by coffee houses, taverns and shops where home handicraft flourishes.
The wonderful handmade brocades, tablecloths, the narrow-knit and Chantilly laces as well as the traditional products, decorate the village.
VOUNI VILLAGE
A memorable visit to a 'colourful village'.
True to its name Vouni is built on the slopes of a low mountain, offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.
A village that has rightfully secured the certification of one of the 'Τhree colorful villages of Cyprus'.
