Bio Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
An organic olive farm in Lefkara / оливковая ферма в Лефкаре
Convenienlty situated just 1km from the centre of the famous village of Lefkara, within the Larnaca region, along the road leading to renowned Machairas Monastery, is Ktima Sofokleous which was created by the Sofokleous family in 2001.
The olive groves are extensive and there are more than 7,000 trees ranging in age from 300 – 1,000 years and the family is particularly proud of the ‘eternal olive’ which is the thousand year old one and is certified and protected by the Cyprus Government. There are many fruit orchards too.
The project has been an ambitious one for the family who are passionate about producing top quality extra virgin olive oil which they believe is important in a well-balanced healthy diet as it is in Cyprus. Visitors to the farm are able to wander in the olive groves admiring the beautiful trees and gaining an insight into the olive oil production and how nutritional it is by joining in a fun olive oil and olives tasting session. Oliva Terra is dedicated to offering olive products of the highest quality.
Ktima Sofokleous has a very attractive shop which is wood lined and offers visitors the chance to taste and enjoy both the olives and their oil. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil is of course the signature product of the farm and marketed under the label Oliva Terra. There are other products in the range including olive paste, traditional olive sweets and olive jam. There are other traditional nature products and a range of gift ideas featuring an olive design and these include olive oil jars and olive dishes. Olive wood is highly prized as it has beautiful graining and in the shop there is a selection of beautifully carved pieces.
Moreover to the organic and delicious olive oil and oil products visitors can taste and purchase Cyprus wine exclusively available at Ktima Sofokleous.
A beautiful and pleasant drive to Ktima Sofokleous Olive farm will take only 25 minutes drive from Larnaca and approximately 35 minutes drive from Limassol and Nicosia.
