Taverna Greek Live Music Kopiaste is the wonderful Greek word meaning ‘come share with us’ and usually refers to a meal, but Moyses Live Greek Tavern invites you to share a great evening – Greek style!

Moyses Live Greek Tavern is situated on the eastern outskirts of Larnaca in the tourist area of the Larnaca / Dhekelia road (opposite the camping forest of Pyla). It is in an attractive multi-function luxury hall which is also a part of the Vergi City Hotel – just opposite the camping forest of Pyla… and so easy to find from the sound of good music and laughter!

Food is available from 9.00 p. m. There is no menu because everyone enjoys a traditional seasonal mezé. Mezé is much more than a meal it is like a banquet and consists of a wide array of various small plates of food that are enjoyed at a leisurely pace accompanied by drinks and plenty of lively conversation with friends as a Mezé are definitely best enjoyed as a group….
The dishes in a Mezé change almost weekly to reflect the passing seasons as much of the produce is grown locally. The service of the mezé follows a set order and always begins with a bowl of horiatikisalada – village salad – accompanied by small bowls of dips including the more unusual melitzanosalada (a tasty aubergine dip) and of course a dish of olives. The meal progresses and more plates arrive at your table including pourgouri which is a rice pilaf and macaronia sto fourno which is macaroni with a meat layer and creamy cheese sauce. There are seasonal vegetables to enjoy including mushrooms, aubergines and a slice of grilled Halloumi cheese. There is also the chance to enjoy two delicious classic casseroles – Afelia (pork) and Stifado (beef).

An array of delicious cooked meat follows – all sizzling, served straight from the charcoal and these are accompanied by wedges of lemon as a drizzle of lemon juice is the finishing touch to the meat which includes everyone’s favourite – souvlakia! The end of this banquet is marked by the arrival of a bowl of chilled fruit – literally grown a stone’s throw away!

If a great meal wasn’t enough, on Friday and Saturday evenings Moyses has live music provided by a dynamic five member  band that plays an assortment of Greek music and international hits and soon everyone is up dancing – don’t worry if you don’t know the steps for the Greek tunes… just jump up and join in… everyone is having too much fun to notice …. And the fun continues to 04.00 the following morning…
