To Steki tis Pareas is a sizeable traditional Cyprus taverna near the popular Phikoudes promenade in Larnaka and is definitely a great place to enjoy traditional Greek food and live entertainment.

The taverna is simply but effectively decorated with cream coloured walls and tablecloths that contrast with the bitter chocolate colour of the furniture. There are huge windows that reflect the lights from the ceiling lanterns but it is the sizeable wall murals that give the place its distinctive character – one of the paintings depicts three musicians with guitar, bouzouki and laouto enjoying a drink together before they start playing.

The food served at To Steki tis Pareas is really excellent and has been described as ‘amazing’ in various online reviews. Mezé, which is served at evenings, comprises a wide variety of ‘taster’ dishes to be shared and enjoyed at a leisurely pace by a group of friends or family. The dishes are served in a certain order that begins with dips, progresses to vegetable and meat specialities and these are followed by oven-baked classic such giouvetsi and a selection of cooked meats served sizzling from the charcoal.

The selection of dishes however, varies throughout the year to include all the different seasonal meat and vegetables and each dish provides a very generous ‘taster’ to each diner! The members of staff at the taverna are friendly, efficient and happy to answer any queries about a particular dish. For those who are vegetarian or who are observing one of the church’s periods of fasting, alternative food platters are available.

If great food wasn’t enough...on Friday and Saturday evenings there is live music too and because of the warm spontaneity of Cypriots this usually includes impromptu dancing as well – but don’t worry about having two left feet, just jump up and join in...you’ll have a great evening.

Steki tis Pareas can also cater with a rich selection of buffet options for your special event.

And if all these were not enough, Steki now is also open for lunch every Monday till Friday, offering homemade traditional delicious dishes at great prices. Lunch is also available for take-away and delivery.
