1st Honey and Beekeeping Festival in Kalopanayiotis

An October festival not to be missed!

The first Cyprus Honey and Beekeeping Festival will take place in Kalopanayiotis on Friday 27th until Sunday 29th October.

Save the dates for what will surely be the sweetest festival of the year!  The festival will open it's doors and welcome beekeepers as well as the general public to be informed all about Cyprus honey, it's nutritional and beneficial values, taste delicious and aromatic Cyprus honey and the best part of all purchase directly from the producers. 

The picturesque village of Kalopanayiotis with its traditional architecture, its cobbled streets and footpaths, the chapels and the Byzantine churches, is an example of genuine traditional community unaffected by modern day civilization. Houses with tiled rooftops, picturesque balconies, courtyards with shady vine trees climbing everywhere are the main characteristics of the village. Kalopanayiotis village and the villages in the Marathasa area in general boast a long history in honey production.  

The festival is an initiative of the Troodos Development Company in co-operation with the Pancyprian union of beekeepers. The festival will include amongst others honey and byproducts exchibition, educational meetings, honeytherapy information and tasting.
