Larnaka Beaches

Larnaka beaches are very safe and are usually long with grey sand.  The water is shallow and clear and the sea is usually calm and ideal for swimming, beach games and walking.  Also, Larnaka has the most ideal wind speed conditions throughout Cyprus for water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing especially during the period May-September. Almost all the beaches are excellently organised and accredited with the 'Blue Flag'.

Many beaches proudly display the Blue Flag, an annual award to beaches that meet very strict criteria, ranging from water quality to area management and safety.




 


Phinikoudes beach

The Phinikoudes beach is located on the palm lined front of Larnaka and is one of the most famous in Cyprus. The sea is clean and calm with very mild waves. The palm trees are the town’s symbol and were planted along the Athenon Avenue in 1922. It is an ideal place for sunbathing and chilling out. The beach has grey sand and is about 600 long. The area is popular for its cafes, bars, restaurants and hotels and the commercial and shopping centre of the town is just behind the promenade. The access to the beach is extremely easy by foot, bus and car.

Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from June – October, 10:30-18:00. The beach also offers disabled access.

Larnaka sea explorations, including fishing trips, mini cruises and diving, are all available from the pier of Larnaka Marina, found at the start of Foiniikoudes promenade. Divers in particular should not miss the opportunity to visit the world famous wreck dive of ‘Zenobia’.

Makenzie Beach


Makenzie Beach is situated near the old Larnaka International Airport . The beach has a length of about 1km with fine grey sand and the sea is very clean and calm. Along the beach you can find various fish taverns, restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as, mini markets.

Due to the beach’s location, it is ideal for plane spotting.The beach attracts both families and younger crowds during the day, whilst at night it is a premium destination for clubbing.

The beach can be easily accessed by foot, bike, bus and car.

Kastella Beach


Kastella beach is situated near the ‘Psarolimano’ fishing shelter in Larnaka. It is a small beach with fine grey sand. Near the beach you can find the best ice cream shops in Larnaka, as well as, popular fish taverns, restaurants and mini markets.

Access to the beach is easy and safe by foot, bike, bus or car, with a bus stop a few metres along the road and a cycle path running parallel. There are car-parking facilities opposite the beach at the municipal car park, and also at the neighbouring fishing shelter. 

Yannathes Beach


Yannathes Beach is a sandy beach with varying shades of brown and beige, calm, clear and shallow seawaters, located in Voroklini. Yiannathes beach is also a certified eco-beach with recycling bins.

Access to the beach is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with car parking facilities, as well as facilities for parking bikes.

Dasaki Pylas Beach


Dasaki Pylas Beach is situated on the Larnaka Dhekelia road opposite Pyla village. It is a long beach within green surroundings with fine grey sand. 

It has calm and shallow clear waters and the lengthy sandy stretches are ideal for walks and beach games.

Faros (Pervolia) Beach


Faros Beach is located near the light house in Pervolia village outside Larnaka. It is the best kite surfing beach in the area. Winds are south, south –westerly and particularly good in the summer months.

Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from June 15 – September 30, 10:00-18:00. The beach offers disabled access.

Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with car parking facilities, cycling trails and walking trails.

CTO Pyla Beach


Located in the Larnaka district of Pyla, along Dekeleia Road, the CTO beach of Pyla offers a complete day out for all the family, thanks to a host of facilities and the amenities of the surrounding area. Set amidst an expanse of greenery, the sands are fine grey and the clean waters are calm and shallow, making the beach popular with all, including families with small children.

Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with car-parking facilities.
The beach also offers disabled access.

Parasolia Kiti Beach


The organised beach called Parasolia in the Kiti village in Larnaca, is found west of the village, very close to the Mazotos beach. It is a sandy beach with a width of 20 metres and a length of 400 metres, where the kareta kareta turtles lay theire eggs.
