アイオス・ラザロス教会

教会と修道院

聖ラザロはラルナカの守護聖人です。キティオンは、キリストによって復活した後、彼の第二の故郷となり、そこで30年間過ごしました。9世紀には、ビザンティン帝国皇帝レオ6世によって、聖ラザロが埋葬された場所に壮大な教会が建てられました。  この教会はキプロスで最も優れたビザンティン建築の一例です。

現在の教会は17世紀のもので、鐘楼はより新しいもので、外観の主要な見どころです。

内部は貴重なイコンと金メッキのイコノスタシを備えた豊かなビザンティンの雰囲気を演出しています。イコノスタシはバロック様式の木彫りの優れた例です。教会の下には、今でも聖人の墓と神殿を見ることができます。

建物内には小さな博物館があります。

4月 - 8月 8:00 - 12:30 & 14:30 - 18:30
