クリソロイアティッサ修道院

教会と修道院

修道院は、パフォス市の南、パナイアの南40キロに位置する美しい環境にあります。この魅惑的な修道院は、「金のザクロの聖母」に捧げられ、1152年に修道士イグナティオスによって創設されました。聖母マリアの神秘的なイコンをパフォスの海岸で見つけたのです。伝説によると、それはイコノクラスムの時代に小アジアで海に捨てられ、波に乗ってパフォスに漂着したと言われています。現在の建物は1770年にさかのぼります。

教会は非常に興味深いものであり、聖書や宗教的な品物、そしていくつかのアーティファクトなどの豊富なコレクションがあり、アイコンと宝物博物館で一部を見ることができます。

この聖母被昇天祭の8月15日には、印象的な宗教的な儀式が行われます。

教会への入場は無料です。
