Description

Kalopanyiotis village ...Where comfort and elegance meets rural charm.! Located in the evergreen valley of Setrachos river on the northern slopes of the Troodos range, we reach the village Kalopanayiotis. It is one of the fourteen villages of the Marathasa area, the most mountainous area of Cyprus. The whole area was part of the ancient Kingdom of Soli, whose kings used the area as their wellness resort combining it with their hunting outings. The Sulphur waters have been used throughout the ages to this day for their healing properties. It is said that a temple dedicated to Asclepius, to the ancient god of healing, was situated on the same spot where the Lampadistis Monastery stands today. Whether you need to feel the mountain breeze by following a natural trail, rejuvenate with a massage at the *spa with the thermal baths of sulphurous waters, or enjoy a local tour in the village, Kalopanayiotis is certainly the right place to explore the Troodos area! Prodromos village A village built in the green. The favorite destination of tourists who are looking for a hospitable and peaceful environment, seeking the tranquility and clean atmosphere of the mountain. Located in a rare, eye-catching area with panoramic views of the Cypriot nature among pine and fruit trees, lies the Monastery of Panagia Trikoukkiotissa. 'The Hotel of Kings' Winston Churchill, the Duke of Marlborough and the King of Egypt Farouk I, were just a few names of the endless list that stayed in the hotel. Set just outside the village of Prodromos, we come across with the Berengaria Hotel. A former luxurious resort that used to be one of the crown jewels of Cyprus mountain tourism. Even its name reveals luxury, a name given to the hotel in honor of Queen Berengaria, wife of Richard the Lionheart, who were married in the Limassol Castle. Having withstood the passage of time, Berengaria remains one of the Cyprus as top unofficial tourist destinations. Kakopetria village Built in the north side of the Troodos mountain range, on the banks of the Kargotis and Garillis rivers, is the highest village of the 'Solea' region. The cobblestone narrow streets, the stone build houses with the wooden balconies and tiled roofs, testify that the entire village is a unique sample of original folk architecture. Platres village This picturesque village with the traditional stone built houses is built in the forest, amphitheatrically in the foothill of the Troodos mountain. The outstanding natural beauty of the river, forming a green valley with a unique flora and breathtaking waterfalls only begin to describe this magic scenery. In the spring, walking through the nature paths you can feel the mountain breeze, smell the fragrance of the blooming cherry trees, hear the endless sing of the night gales nesting among the fruit orchards and the river streams. Time to stroll around the village, taste the delicious spoon sweet, or enjoy a meticulously made coffee.
