Description
Larnaca is an ancient city built on the ruins of Citium. It is a calm place with a distinctive laid-back vibe, famous for its coastal promenade - Finikoudes. Admire the magnificent stone church of Agios Lazaros, harbouring the tomb of Saint Lazarus. It is a perfect example of Byzantine architecture in Larnaca. This city goes back 10,000 years, with the longest continually inhabited region on the island. While the city is rich in its culture and architecture, it also blooms as a modern European city, with all modern amenities the Cyprus can offer. Walk around the streets of the Old Turkish Quarter and admire the quaint old-fashioned architecture, the whitewashed cottages, nicely decorated with colourful window frames.
