Description
St. Mamas Village
Located on the southern slopes of the Troodos mountain range at the eastern foot of Zalaka mountain, this village is built in an amphitheatric layout. Named after a Christian martyr, it is renowned for its Commandaria wine, securing its place among the 14 traditional Commandaria production villages. Visitors can learn about the wine production process and taste the wine known for its unique aroma, a symbol of Cyprus.
Doros Village
The village name derives from the ancient Greek word Doris, meaning forest. Surrounded by almond trees, grapevines, and fruit orchards, Doros offers traditional village scenery. Visitors enjoy walking its narrow streets, admiring restored stone houses, and experiencing local hospitality.
Katerina Sweets
This local workshop with panoramic views of Cypriot nature includes a traditional-style coffee shop. Guests can enjoy a drink paired with 'glyko' (spoon sweets) while watching the sweets being made behind glass panels.
Laneia Village
One of the 14 Commandaria villages, Laneia benefits from south-facing slopes and white chalky soil, ideal for growing grapes that produce high-quality wines. Visitors can stroll through its narrow streets to observe traditional village life.
Monagri Village
Set against the Troodos mountains, Monagri means 'small valley' and was once part of a monastery estate since Byzantine times. It offers an authentic village experience with historical ties to noble families during the Frankish rule.
Menegros Winery
This multi-awarded winery complements the area’s heritage and introduces visitors to the principles behind the iconic Commandaria wine.
