Worth trying the red Maratheftiko wine.
The area is suitable for the indigenous grape varieties, thus the white grape variety used is Xinisteri for a crispy dry with strong fruit aromas of citrus and banana, and, for a fruitier the medium dry.
Shoufas Winery is a thirty minute drive from Paphos in the Kilinia village, an unpopulated countryside, and is surrounded by vineyards. As with most villages in Paphos, Kilinia boasts a fine old history with vines having been planted several decades back.
Shoufas Winery produce red premium wines Maratheftiko & Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot and white premium wine Chardonnay, a fabulous concentration of rich buttery fruit flavours. cava boasts five labels of ordinary wine and three wines which are the flagships of the winery.
The winery has recently completed its extension works and is equipped with modern equipment for winemaking. Doors open to visitors on almost a daily basis.
The wine produced was only for home consumption, used at family gatherings and celebrations.
