Larnaka Municipal museum is a charming, small, modest single storey building which displays large collections of local reptiles, insects, birds, animals, fossils and rock formations.

Also on exhibit are marine life and plants from Cyprus and surrounding countries. The visitor, can furthermore see a great collection of international and local shells, corals and sponges.

Of great interest is the collection of insects of Cyprus, as well as the collection of the endemic plants of the island.

The museum is located in the Municipal Gardens, the greenery and playgrounds of which make for a pleasant visit, especially for children. The entrance to the playground is free.

Municipal Gardens also includes the Municipal Library where the visitor can borrow books from the library for free. The statue of Liberty is situated in front of the Library whereas in front of the Municipal Theatre is the artwork 'The Blare of Peace'.

Monday - Friday: 09:00 - 16:00

Saturday: 10:00 - 13:00

Sunday: Closed

Operating Period: All year round

Entrance Fee: 0,50 Euro
