Ktima Sofokleous Oliva Terra

An organic olive farm in Lefkara / оливковая ферма в Лефкаре

Convenienlty situated just 1km from the centre of the famous village of Lefkara, within the Larnaca region, along the road leading to renowned Machairas Monastery, is Ktima Sofokleous which was created by the Sofokleous family in 2001.

The olive groves are extensive and there are more than 7,000 trees ranging in age from 300 – 1,000 years and the family is particularly proud of the ‘eternal olive’ which is the thousand year old one and is certified and protected by the Cyprus Government. There are many fruit orchards too.
 
The project has been an ambitious one for the family who are passionate about producing top quality extra virgin olive oil, one of the most important ingredients of a well-balanced healthy Mediterranean diet.

Visitors to the farm are able to wander in the olive groves admiring the beautiful trees and gaining an insight into the olive oil production and how nutritional it is by joining in a fun olive oil and olive tasting session.
 
Ktima Sophocleous has a very attractive shop which is wood lined and offers visitors the chance to taste and enjoy both the olives and their oil. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil is of course the signature product of the farm and marketed under the certified biological label Oliva Terra. There are other products in the range including variety of olives, olive paste, traditional olive sweets and olive jam. There are other traditional nature products and a range of gift ideas featuring an olive design and these include olive oil jars and olive dishes. Olive wood is highly prized as it has beautiful graining and in the shop there is a selection of beautifully carved pieces. 
 
Ktima Sofokleous is situated amongst rolling hills with beautiful rolling hills looking towards the twin villages of Lefkara. This attractive and spacious setting with endless olive groves and stylish wooden bridges and walkways is a popular venue for weddings,  as well as other special events, as there are so many stunning photo opportunities and there are excellent venue facilities for up to 250 guests. Ktima Sofokleous has also been used for a number of photo shoots because of its appealing and natural features and because its facilities are very versatile, the Sofokleous family are keen for the farm to be chosen as the venue for a wide range of events.
