The stylish interior of the Winery Wine Bar & Cellar which is housed in an elegant, high- ceilinged listed building, reveals the owner's great love of wine as well as an eye for design.
The gleaming chrome of pipe work and storage tanks contrasts with the comfortable grey chairs and natural wood tables and wall shelves that display numerous bottles of wine all cleverly lit. The thermostatically controlled glass storage room has countless rows of wine bottles with each label proudly on display below each rack and the focus of the display is a large oak wine barrel.
Outside, the terrace is simply decorated with black metals and chairs and the 'wow' factor is created by the stunning floodlit honey stone wall with young tendrils of ivy growing skywards.
Georgio Ktistis the owner, is a dedicated oenologist who has been working with wine since 2008. It is his great love that has inspired this stylish place and for many it is a unique experience to be able to relax and enjoy good wine in the bar, knowing that wine is being produced just behind the bar staff! Andri, Georgio's wife has been the designer of this dynamic bar. As Georgio explains -

The result is an impressive wine list featuring more than 300 labels from 15 different countries - including some rare wines- to portray the diversity of wine available to enjoy. The list is carefully structured according to the profile of each wine so that each wine can be married with the ideal foods that compliment it and is structured based on the gustatory profile of each wine. This way they can easily approach the culinary needs of every visitor, giving him simultaneously a plurality of choices in each category and there is plenty of friendly guidance available to help with decisions!
There is a wonderful selection of wine-based cocktails available too including Leo Albus, meaning 'white lion' in Latin and a wonderful cocktail based on Prosecco and Bacchus, named after the Roman god of wine, Dionysus. This cocktail is based on Commandaria Aes Ambelis - Commandaria being the famous Cypriot fortified wine that has been produced since medieval times.
The food menu is definitely as exciting and diverse as the wine list and the dishes can be ordered Tapas style. The lemon shrimp (served with avocado and mango salad) is perfect with a glass of white or rosé as is the more filling salmon with almond crust and seaweed salad, whilst the viel ribeye steak is the ideal choice for those who enjoy a full boded red. For those who prefer to share a platter, there are four to choose from - cheese, charcuterie, combination and fruit, whilst those love a fine dessert with a sweeter white wine will be delighted by the menu choices.
For those who enjoy taking life at a slower pace, there is a tempting brunch menu with pancakes, vegetable frittata and an assortment of savoury pies amongst the choices.
