Lemesos Beaches

Sink your toes into warm sand, feel the sun on your skin and look out on the sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea. â€˜This is Life’! Nothing beats Cyprus for a beach holiday. Cyprus has a wealth of beaches to choose from. From fine white sandy beaches with shallow turquoise waters to deep water rocky bays perfect for snorkeling. Most of the beaches are excellently organised, clean and provide superb facilities including lifeguards, umbrellas, sun beds, water sports, toilets and changing rooms. The majority are accredited with the blue flag. The beaches are usually very easily accessed.

Accreditation

Many beaches proudly display the Blue Flag, an annual award to beaches that meet very strict criteria, ranging from water quality to area management and safety.

Akti Olympion


Akti Olympion is one of the most popular public beaches on the island and the only one that lies within the boundaries of the Lemesos municipality. The sandy beach is 40 km long 40m wide with pedestrian footpaths, bicycle lanes and plenty parking. The beach is accredited with the blue flag.

Comprised of a dark grey sands and clean waters, the sea here remains calm, thanks to a breakwaters on the adjacent promenade, making it suitable for all, including families with children.

Pissouri Beach

Pissouri beach is located in Pissouri village about 20 minutes drive from Lemessos, 30 km west of Limassol (midway between Limassol and Paphos). 

Pissouri beach is noted for its fine golden sand, multi colour pebbles, moderate waves and chrystal clear waters. Pissouri beach is a clam and peaceful beach of incomparable beauty. Quality accommodation facilities, restaurants, bars and shops can be found  nearby.

Aphrodite Beach


Aphrodite beach is a beautiful sandy beach located in Ayios Tychonas in the Lemesos region. The seawaters are clean and the coast gives way to a lovely grassy area with shade provided by further palm and eucalyptus trees.

Governors Beach


Governors beach is a small pebble beach off the Lefkosia-Lemessos highway about 20 minutes east of Lemesos.Huge white rocks create small private enclosures but offer no shade so take your own umbrella. The beach is ideal for families and couples. The area is fantastic for snorkeling, boating and fishing. A regular bus service connects the beach with the Lemesos town (old harbour) during the summer period.

Access is easy by car via the A1 motorway, and the area has car-parking facilities available. The beach also offers disabled access.

Lady's Mile


Lady’s Mile, located on the west part of Limassol, is an 8km stretch with mostly unspoiled sandy beaches with shallow waters and necessary facilities, suitable for families.

Aorati Beach


Aorati beach is a sandy beach located in Pyrgos in the Lemesos area.Its unique combination of semi-circular sandy coves and large flat rocks run parallel to the shore, and the large, shallow pools of water make it especially ideal for children and toddlers.

Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from April – October, 09:00-17:00, and until 18:00 during the summer season. The beach also offers disabled access, including a special wheelchair at the lifeguard tower to help disabled persons enter the sea with assistance from the lifeguards.

Onisillos Beach


Onisillos beach is a white sandy beach located in Ayios Tychonas. Its clean seawaters are protected from winds by breakwaters.

Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car with car-parking available. The beach also offers disabled access.

Pareklisia Community Beach


Pareklisia community beach is a grey sand beach with relatively calm waters. Accommodation facilities, restaurants, bars and convenient stores can be easily accessed.

Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car with car-parking facilities available. The beach also offers disabled access.

Armonia Beach


Armonia beach is a sandy beach located in Ayios Tychonas in Lemesos area. The beach is readily accessible with many parking spaces.

Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from April – November, 09:00-17:00, and until 18:00 during the summer season.

Santa Barbara Beach


Santa Barbara beach is a sandy beach with rocks located in Ayios Tychonas in Lemessos area. Comprised of sand with some rocks, the clean seawaters are further enhanced by an artificial reef, with the ancient Amathounta port offering excellent opportunities for snorkelling. There is a scenic footpath that leads westwards, passing the ancient city and the port of Amathounta.

Vouppa and Loures Beach


Vouppa and Loures beach are lovely sandy beaches located in Ayios Tychonas in Lemesos area. They attract swimmers all-year-round thanks to their clean and calm seawaters, protected from winds.

Castella Beach


Castella beach is a sandy narrow beach located in Ayios Tychonas in Lemesos area, close to the luxury hotels. The beach and its clean waters are divided between the quieter sections, and those that centre around the popular beach bars, drawing in the younger crowds with beach parties and live DJs.

Kalymnos Beach



Kalymnos beach is a sandy beach located in Pentacomo in the Lemesos region. Camping site can be found nearby.

Kourion Beach


Kourion beach is approximately 20km west of Lemesos at the foot of the stunning 2nd century AD amphitheatre. Kourion beach is a very popular pebble beach with choppy waters. Good restaurants with fabulous sea views are open only during the summer period.
